Major Updates for Games

Hello, guys! Long time no see. How have you been? It has been so long time since I updated the games last time. I’ve got my own time at home nowadays, so I could update the games recently. I’d like to talk about it today, so let’s take a look.

New Unity Engine

First of all, I updated the Unity version of the games, so it can run more fast and smooth on your device. New Unity has plenty of features to optimize the games, and it’s even powerful when I build and test it for each platform so that I could make it better. I’ve updated Unity packages & plugins as well accordingly.

Safe Area Support

Now it supports the modern displays with the safe area for both of Android & iOS devices. It was not so easy to support since I didn’t design the layouts with the consideration at the first stage. I’ve updated and tested it carefully one by one, so it works perfect now.

For Tiny Wright Bros, it still has the letter box since it’s designed so.

Adaptive Icon Support

This is one of the new features of Android. It’s composed of two layers; background and foreground. I updated each icon, so that it can be shown nicely on the specific devices.

Native Share Plugin

I found that the native share function was not working correctly on the latest platforms somehow even if there was no problem when I released it. So I fixed it for both platforms, and it’s working fine now.

Optimized Resources

I tested and optimized all the assets and resources carefully one by one, so it can be running more fast and light on your device. Some of textures might seem low quality due to this; however, I believe it’s better in most cases when you think of the advantages.

So far, the above updates apply to all of the games; Hungry Zombie, Tiny Wright Bros, Oh! My Banana, Space Agent, and Tap Tap Fidget, including other updates too. Here’s something more for you.

Space Agent

Now you can command Super Jump with only one finger instead of two fingers like you used to do. It was one of the opinions from reviewers, and I believe it’s more convenient for every one. Thank you for the feedback.

I decided to remove the Jetpack Pug character since it’s not relevant to the game actually.

Recent Goofylab News

Space Title

Last month, I released an arcard game called Space Agent on both Google Play and Apple App Store. Space Agent is a simple one-touch platform game which describes a man lost in space. You can experience deep dark space with massive stars, and it is so exciting when you play it with smooth tilt controls. There is also high-quality background music of Retro Future composed by Andrea Baroni. I hope you enjoy this game.

I also updated my previous games: Hungry Zombie, Tiny Wright Bros, and Oh! My Banana to make it stable and optimized with latest mobile devices and third-party plugins. All descriptions and screenshots are updated too. Now you can find all of my games from Made with Unity website.

Space Agent Released

Hello guys! Long time no see. Today, I published my new arcade game, Space Agent! It’s a fourth released project of Goofylab. I’m glad to introduce my new game after a long interval. Great!

Space Agent is a simple and exciting one-touch arcade game. You can explore into deep space with massive stars on extensive view. Your experience will be so realistic with dynamic camera scene and visual effects.

This game is inspired by space concept. I tried to express a man exploring dark space with massive stars on mysterious universe. I wanted to make players experience exploring realistic universe when they play it. Your mission is finding a new planet and survive from deep space!

Space Agents

This time, I also tried new method to control a character. I used an accelerometer, and you have to tilt your device to survive. It could be difficult at first time, however I’m sure that you will be comfortable and enjoy this move later.

Retro Future

Moreover, I tried to make high quality sounds experience. Space Agent has a lot of great sound effects and includes awesome background music “Retro Future” composed by Andrea Baroni. It includes two soundtracks, Chasing Neon Lights and Weirder Dreams. I’m sure that you will be like these music, so I recommend you to use your earphone.

Tiny Wright Bros Released

Hello guys! Just few weeks ago, the second game of Goofylab was released. Tiny Wright Bros! I’m glad to introduce it here. Sorry for the late post.

“Let’s take a trip by controlling a classic plane!”

This game is very simple and easy for everyone. Tap to fly or your plane fall. It is basically same with other tappy games. I tried a lot of methods to jump and avoid objects but none of them were better than this. So I focused other stuff to make it fun. I designed all of levels and there are fully hand-made themes and also cute planes with retro-styled colors.

“Damn, we’re out of gas! Let’s turn the generator by ourself.
Don’t forget, our goal is to find new world and get treasures!”

This game is designed for everyone including children. There are no violence scenes and sexual languages. I wanted it to be good and healthy everywhere.

In fact I have developed it for a long time. This project was originally started before Hungry Zombie. It has 320×480 display resolutions and also letter box. I used Unity’s Sprite only and no additional libraries. It wasn’t easy to continue developing without Unity’s newest features like uGUI. I finished it anyway and it feels like retro style to me.

Yesterday, finally Hungry Zombie also released to Apple App Store for iOS! It’s big news and I’m so exciting about this. From now on, more people can enjoy my app and we can compete scores together!

Because it took long time to pass Apple’s review, current released version is so early model of Hungry Zombie. I’ll update it soon like Android version. Please wait for more updates, there are so many features fun.

Today, I released a game app, Hungry Zombie. This is so fun and tiny game that everyone can enjoy. Your goal is just getting high score avoiding bombs. It’s very simple and easy, but also exciting.

As you see, there is a handsome zombie we play together. I love this green zombie in my game. He’s from the Asset Store of Unity. When I found him, I didn’t need to think second thought. I just knew that I had to make something with it fun. Of course I had a plan for simple games before I met this zombie, but he just made everything clear.

Development was also fun. Specially sounds part it was. I needed some voices for my zombie, so I recorded them by myself. This was my first time as an voice actor and it’s actually exciting experience to be a ‘literally’ part of my game. And my friend Jack helped me by producing the background music awesome. It’s highly addictable to enjoying the game. Thanks to Jack again.
